ECO TEA PACKAGING
So many people want to choose earth-friendly, but then you go to the grocery store or big box stores, and the options are few and far between. We believe in offering sustainable, low-waste options so that you, the consumer, actually have a choice!
What We Currently Use
We are a small artisanal business but being earth-friendly is a core value for us. Our current packaging is all recyclable or compostable in some form. Our shipping materials are either recyclable, compostable and/or recycled. We err towards cardboard and paper when possible for packaging; we also carefully select product materials based on being natural, durable, recyclable and/or biodegradable, such as stainless steel, bamboo, glass and ceramics.

Recyclable Cardboard Tubes
These cardboard tubes are recyclable but not compostable. They are accepted by conventional curbside recycling services.

Home Compostable Tube Liners
These are made of 100% PLA and are heat sealed for freshness. They are certified home compostable and we've tested them ourselves - they break down rapidly in a non-industrial compost setting.

Recyclable Bulk Bags
These are made of LDPE plastic with resealable top to preserve freshness. They can be recycled wherever you recycle your plastic bags.
Behind These Sustainable Choices
We primarily offer you tea in sleek eco-tube cardboard packaging with a compostable liner because of its low-impact production and biodegradability. We have moved away from tin as a primary packaging solution because of the carbon cost of producing, shipping, and end-life disposal (landfill/recycling). Many of our customers reuse and upcycle, but the fact is the majority of tea tins end up single-use. But if you’d like to store your tea in tins (why not!) you can order tea in bulk bags to fill your tins! Bulk bag sizes are available for almost every tea in 4 or 8 oz bags and in 40-count bags for pyramid sachets.
The bulk bags we use are 100% recyclable wherever plastic bags are recycled. We've weighed the trade-offs of using plastic at all, but for a sensitive product like tea, freshness is a priority. We want your tea to taste good and last long!
