Certified Organic, Sourced from Shizuoka, Japan
We source our high quality, certified organic tea directly from Japan, the birthplace of matcha. Our current batch of matcha comes from Shizuoka, a tea-growing region, located south of Mt. Fuji on the southern coast. It's known for its fertile volcanic soil, favorable growing conditions, and long history of tea cultivation reaching back to the 1200s.
What Does Ceremonial Grade Mean?
Matcha has a standardized grading scale. Ceremonial just means "the highest quality." Enjoy this organic matcha in hot or iced matcha and matcha lattes. For baking, please use a lower grade matcha!
What is Matcha?
Matcha is a type of green tea produced by grinding whole leaf green tea leaves into a fine powder. One of the most unusual and amazing things about matcha is that you're consuming the whole leaf.
Matcha contains caffeine, as well as theanine, which is said to promote a relaxing effect.
